THE CENTRAL AXLE’S DISASSEMBLY AND MAINTENANCE

The square hole bottom bracket and splined bottom bracket removal and assembly processes are nearly identical. The chainring must first be disassembled. Teeth plate teeth.

Remove the crankset fixing screw counterclockwise with a crank removal wrench, then put the bike crank remover tool into the crank screw hole, grip the crank and rotate the crank removal tool handle clockwise; if there is no handle, use a wrench instead. Remove the chainring downwards by pressing the bottom bracket to free the crank. Avoid the chain tugging on the front derailleur at this moment.

When removing the opposite side of the , take care not to harm the crankset or the crank threads. To remove the British threaded bottom bracket, the left and right threads on the left and right sides of the bottom bracket are opposite, and the left side is the forward thread. The shaft’s reverse thread on the right side should be loosened clockwise, while the forward threads on the left and right sides of the Italian threaded bottom bracket should be loosened counterclockwise.

When disassembly, start with the left one. When disassembly, unscrew it first and do not remove it fully. Unscrew the right side and then remove it on both sides together. When installation, make a distinction between the left and right sides. In general, the right side is the bigger central axis body, and the larger is the right side. The little one is to the left. Lubricate the central shaft thread diagram to make the job easier and less likely to damage the thread.

When installing, first install the right center shaft, turn it counterclockwise to tighten it, but do not tighten it slightly to fix it, then install the left side, use the tool to screw the right side to the center shaft and the plane of the bottom bracket, and then tighten the left side, hang the chain on the bottom bracket position to prevent leakage, and then install the chainring back to the bottom bracket.

So, when should the center axle be maintained? In general, the central axis determines that the anomalous noise resistance is too great, and the central axis must be maintained. Its maintenance mainly consists of cleaning the internal bearings or balls and adding butter.

If the bearing balls or other rolling components have been damaged, It should be changed if the wear is severe.

Before performing maintenance, carefully remove the bearing from the central shaft using the bike crank puller, and then gently raise the dust cover of the bearing with a sharp taper. Take care not to scratch the dust cover. If the only thing missing is butter, you can add it right away. If contaminants are discovered, they can be removed with kerosene or gasoline. If the bearing’s inner and outer rings are discovered to be loose, they should be changed owing to wear and tear.
